A very exciting month for our website AbsolutelyFamous as we take a big leap forward in chasing our dream.

Myself – John Alexander – and fellow owner driver Tony Stretch can announce that on Friday June 17 we have invited advertisers to jump on board and spread their message as well as ours on a very much new-look website design that looks fabulous.

Tony and myself have plenty of life experiences to fall back on. Read on for more about us and our new look.

In my case, I spent 23 years as a newspaper sports reporter/journo, winning national awards. During that time when I lived in New Zealand, my country of birth, I also hosted a sports radio show for 15 years.

I now work as an assistant nurse at Gold Coast University Hospital. I’m a sports nut, have played sport most of my life, cricket being the main one and I love running and am currently training to compete in the Gold Coast half marathon in July.

Tony is a multi-sport legend from our former home town of Blenheim. He represented New Zealand at five World Triathlon championships in teams which included his two sons Nathan and Sam.

Tony has also worked in newspaper advertising in Perth and is an outstanding photographer. He has enjoyed a long career in the meat industry and is currently a meat exporter.

Many thanks two our young genius designers, Jordan Handicott from info@visualsoda.com.au for his brilliant logo design and to the one and only Drew Beetham from Drew@draftdesignco.com for his amazing work redesigning our website with a very sharp easy to follow look.

Tony and I also acknowledge my cousin Richard Snell who originally set up the absolutelyfamous website which gave us the platform to develop the site.

We encourage reader/listener feedback and plan to make that a significant part of our content. To celebrate our launch we have several amazing guests featuring with their stories. They include World and Olympic champions, one of the World’s greatest-ever female cricketers and a Knight, a Kiwi legend both for the sport he was involved with and now for the amazing things he’s doing for the community.

AbsolutelyFamous will continue to feature great stories from both Australia and New Zealand and in fact anywhere in the world including strong well researched opinion pieces written and video content. These stories, as well as being sports based will also include other human interest areas such as mental health, promoting good health, people or organisations doing wonderful work in the community.

We want everyone from all walks of life male and female young and old, all races and all sexualities to feel comfortable talking to us and telling their stories.

Just like the mighty All Blacks rugby team, AbsolutelyFamous has a ’NO DICKHEADS’ policy and this will reflect in our stories accentuating the positive but also not being afraid to call it as we see it.
